On the other hand, plenty of stuff can go wrong buying a new mobo.
Compatible with the power supply? Getting compatible RAM? Is Secure
Boot mandatory? Compatible with the current OS version? Current
hardware-intersecting apps? It doesn't work. Did you scratch it or
static it? Can you prove not? Ready for the possibility of RMA blues?
Trust the guys you got it from?

It's not simply a matter of "Is your time worth more than the $350 for
mobo, cpu and RAM." It very possibly could be less time consuming
for him to vacuum the dust bunnies out of the box and fans, twist-tie
the wiring, and maybe even replace the current thermal paste with top
quality thermal paste, than to do everything associated with putting
together a new box.

Or, as many others have pointed out, it might be a BIOS setting
settable in less time than it would take him to navigate and
purchase from Newegg.
