My background right now has been in WIndows task work. I've been
doing AD for a while now but haven't worked in a Linux shop yet. I'm
part of a LUG out here in AZ and I've done a few projects. Mostly
just organizing our ebooks on the server we have in folders and then
creating work documents. I'm right now studying for a LInux+ just for
general knowledge testing and then hopefully an RHCSA for more
specific.
Since I'm not ready to move just yet mainly because of financial
issues. I wanted to see what I could apply for within 6 to 9 months
from now. I can program in Java but I don't have alot of experience.
I manage my own server and VPN and I help family member. However they
all run M$ because they don't care to learn something different.
So any suggestions would be a great help. I would like to participate
in online projects. I've looked at GitHub but I don't have an active
presence really. My wiki page, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StephenMelheim
has a little about what I've done in my LUG for the past few year.
Thanks for all the help in advance.
