Howdy,
  If the printer has a parallel port and you will only be printing
from your LAN, you could use an HP Jetdirect 300x.  They are way too
insecure to expose to the internet, but work fine on your LAN.  I see
a couple of used ones on amazo.com for $20 to $25.  You might even
find someone in the group with a spare one, if you ask.

 If you don't get one with a power adapter, I can help you with a
power adapter.  We just need to find the plug size and voltage and
amperage needed.  It is easy to adapt the voltage on these things,
nowadays.  The only real problem is if the power plug on the JetDirect
is a hard to find size.
