Hi,
The Embedded Linux Users Group meets Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 7 PM,
at Improving (the company name) at 5445 Legacy, Plano, Texas 75034. The
building on the right has Improving's offices.
Clay Montgomery will give a presentation on "Building Motion Tracking
Computer Vision Applications on Open Hardware using Yocto Linux and OpenCV".
Abstract:
"ARM SoCs today have fantastic capabilities for computer vision
applications with features like MIPI, NEON, GPU, IPU, and VPU
accelerators. Clay D. Montgomery, a local freelance embedded Linux
developer, will demonstrate and summarize the results of his exploratory
work building motion detection and tracking applications using OpenCV,
OpenGL ES and other open-source components on the NXP i.MX6 series SoCs. An
order-of-magnitude better performance is achieved which enables vision
applications at entirely new low-power and cost points."
There is usually pizza available. Also, the local Java users group,
JavaMUG, meets there the same time, in a different room.
The building doors lock at 6 PM. There is a JavaMUG person standing by
between 6 pm and 7 pm to let people inside. If you arrive after 7 pm,
please call my cell phone at 817 247 1929 and I will open the door.
