[NTLUG:Discuss] Problems learning Linux and with a PineBook Pro

Over the past week or so, I have exchanged a few messages with one of
your members about the PineBook Pro. Here is an excerpt from one of
the messages:
Either late last year or early this year, I ordered a PineBook Pro
laptop with the intention of using
that laptop to help learn the Linux programming language and to use
for some events with the local amateur radio club (WC5C TriCounty
Amateur Radio Club) in Azle, Texas. Yes, Azle is more than 50 miles
away from Irving where NTLUG meetings are scheduled to be held, if and
when we are again permitted to meet in person. Anyway, I am having
several problems with the PBP, to the extent that it almost seems like
the entire OS should be reinstalled.
A more local ham is helping me learn the Linux programming language,
although there is some learning difficulties on my part (mainly age
and general reluctance to learn hard or difficult subjects). If at all
possible, I would like some help with the PBP to get it working and
stable. At present, I am not able to power it on and get the desktop
to display, much less the initial setup screen. If you could tell me
when the next in-person meeting will be held, I will attempt to be
there with the PBP hoping that at least the power-on and initial setup
problems can be resolved.
Thank you,
James Good kd5vxh
