Thanks for replying.  Unfortunately, that's the requirement.  What I'm trying to do is help the Linux Documentation Project and that's what they use.

Let me ask you this though: Why Docbook? What are you creating? There are many, many
alternatives to Docbook, depending on what form(s) you want the finished product to
take.
