Since i missed the meeting today I thought i'd "report" on my success with snap- and playonlinux-based Adobe Reader DC after touting them previously.  Both work partially.  I have an ext3 partition mounted at /Data and snap-based Reader can't even find it.  playonlinux-based Reader can read/write from/to it but it's dialogs are almost useless because buttons don't have labels and tabs for alternate menus are so tiny they're unreadable.  Although the snap-based Reader's menus are fine, on occasion an error about either being out of tmp space or insufficient permissions to save changes to a file occurs.
The Reader versions are different for the two and each probably uses it's own version of wine.  Between the two i was able to get my taxes done but I'm glad that's only once a year.
