Most Linux systems configure each PAM application definition as a separate file in /etc/pam.d.
The pam_smb module authenticates through the specified Primary/Secondary servers and then will attempt to authenticate through the Unix /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow mechanisms.
Therefore, should be able to replace normal Unix authentication module with pam_smb.
