Source Code and Binaries:

The last I looked, there is a Red Hat rpm file available on ftp.redhat.com under either /pub/incoming or /pub/contrib. This is a good package, it installs easily and will get you started although its function is limited.

To get around this problem, I suggest you get either the public release of 0.54 from the GIMP home page, or the rpm package, as well as the source code for the program. You needn't compile the application itself, but you will need its header files and libraries to compile the various plug-ins. All of this can be had at http:scam.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/ gimp/. This is the authors' home page. An ftp site that carries this as well as developer's releases can be found at ftp.xcf.berkeley.edu/pub/gimp/
