NTLUG is pleased to have Joe Ballif from Caldera as our guest speaker
at the Feb. 17th, 11am presentation. Here's a brief word from Joe about his
presentation:
> Volution - a new browser-based Linux deployment and management product
> that is Linux distribution agnostic and our next Linux server product. I
> plan to give a demonstration of Volution and answer questions about
> Volution, our Linux products and anything else people want to bring up.
and here's a blurb from their website at
http://www.calderasystems.com/products/volution/
> At last, one of the great breakthroughs of the Linux world is here
> Caldera Volution.
>
> This revolutionary, Web-based management supports all major Linux
> distributions. Caldera Volution reduces the ownership costs of
> implementing and managing Linux systems.
>
> Caldera Volution enables administrators to manage the network
> with profiles and policies, without having to individually manage
> each system. In addition, administrators can effectively manage
> their systems through hardware and software inventory, software
> distribution, health monitoring of systems, printer configuration
> and scripted scheduled actions. Caldera Volution is built on open
> standards and utilizes the power of LDAP for data storage and
> policy implementation.
This is exciting stuff for the Linux enterprise community.
9am - Linux Installation Project
10am - Beginners Group
11am - Main Presentation (Caldera's Volution)
See http://www.ntlug.org/cal for directions.
I will not be present at the meeting, Stuart Yarus has volunteered
to help out with the main presentation.
Have a lot of fun!
Chris
