Please attend this Saturday's NLTUG meeting. Mark
Watson will presenting on the Linux Logical Volume Manager
AND the newly released Enterprise Volume Management
System.
Meeting directions and calendar may be found at:
http://www.ntlug.org/cal.html
(below is a summary from Mark)
Note from Chris: Chances are, Mark's presentation will
go longer than specified in the agenda below. Please
plan on a longer meeting if possible.
The goal of the meeting is to detail the deployment of
a Linux server system that is capable of maintaining a high
degree of data availability and integrity. This is
accomplished through the use of Linux LVM and a good
deal of planning.
Specific topics of discussion include: (1) system
layout; (2) alternative boot configuration; (3)
root-able Linux LVM; (4) logical volume management
(e.g. growing and shrinking); (5) system snapshot
(backup); and (6) remote system recovery. There will
be a short discussion and demonstration of EVMS and
its capability. Automated system build and maintenance
scripts and transcript of the presentation will be
made available after the presentation.
AGENDA:

10:00am -- 11:00am Beginning Linux Group
11:00am -- 11:40am Linux LVM Enterprise Deployment
