[NTLUG:Announce] November 20 @ 11am - Improving SUSE Professional

Whether you are user of SUSE 8.2, 9.0, 9.1 or even
9.2, the problem is always the same... no DVD
support, lacking mp3 support, missing Windows
codecs. What can you do? With Fedora, Gentoo,
Debian and some other distributions, there are a
plethora of available packages. Novell(SUSE) is working
on putting together a community, but what do SUSE
users do in the meantime?

I'll be exploring how to augment SUSE Professional
(SUSE 9.2, but same can be done with 8.2+) with much
needed packages for a more user-friendly experience.
I'll demonstrate drag-and-drop audio ripping, and
possibly other media types <cough>.

Also, this demo will be on the Sun w2100z (dual
Opteron 246).. I mention this because of Bryan's
wonderful article at http://www.samag.com/documents/sam0411b/
(which hopefully will attract the non-SUSE folks!!)

Due to technical difficulties, Mark Hanna's User Mode
Linux presentation will occur at a later meeting, sorry.

Agenda is the usual:

9am-ish Linux Installation Project
10am Linux Training Group
11am Improving SUSE Professional

Directions?
http://www.ntlug.org/directions.html
(basically it's the Nokia building at
the intersection of 114 and 161 in Irving)

Hope to see you there!
Chris
