[NTLUG:Announce] IMPORTANT: NTLUG and Nokia

As some of you know, we had an incident at Nokia today involving
one of our member's child.  As a result of the incident, NTLUG
is under a suspension until reviewed.  We will not be able
to meet at Nokia unless Nokia feels that we will not pose
a problem as their invited guest.

However, one other bad thing about all of this is that
we don't "officially" have a Nokia sponsor.  Travis Farral's
departure from Nokia leaves us without a sponsor.

So... regardless of the outcome of the incident matter
above, we cannot meet at Nokia without an employee sponsor.
I have approached one person already about being our
sponsor, however, I do not know for sure if he's willing
to do this for us.    If any of you work for Nokia
and are willing to sponsor NTLUG, please respond
back to me at ccox at ntlug.org or cjcox at acm.org.

I want to remind everyone at NTLUG that we are visiting
guests at whoever's facility opens their doors to us.
We need to be on our best behavior at all times.

Nokia has always been more than gracious and has even
bent the rules for us.  I do not want to see us receive
permanent suspension, nor do I want Nokia to feel they
have to subject us to every letter of their law... though
they may require that of us if they do allow us to
continue to meet there.

I will likely be in contact with Nokia's security team
this week... my brain is still spinning....
