Happy New Year!
The Linux Fair for 2006 has been postponed until the March
meeting. The Linux Fair takes place on a normal meeting
day except the agenda is replaced with simply events
surrounding the display and demonstration of hardware
and software that works with Linux.
But NTLUG needs you help. We love for these to be
personal demonstrations... in other words... YOU!
In order to be successful we need people who are willing
to set up demonstrations using their own equipment
and software, etc. for the purposes of being the
main attraction of the event. People that attend
will come by to ask you questions, watch your
prepared demos, etc.
So... if you have something you would like to
put together for the NTLUG Fair 2006, now is a good
time.
However, I do need to know if you are wanting
to be one of the displays at the fair. So, please
send me a direct email with the subject:
NTLUG Linux Fair 2006
and let me know what you have (try to be very
specific). In general, I (Chris) will accept
almost anything. However, we don't want 10
people all demonstrating the beauties of Firefox.
So... preference will be given to the first
one who comes up with an idea.
We'll see if Nokia can hook up the LIP room
and make it able to see the internet. Demonstrations
that can be done WITHOUT internet are good ideas
(just in case... you need to be prepared for this).
So... please send me you demonstration ideas
for the:
NTLUG Linux Fair 2006
Let's see if we can make this one... the best
one.
Also, I'll probably want about 4 voluteers to
help out with security and pizza and such. Please
email me mailto:ccox at ntlug.org on that as well.
Regards,
Chris
