The way that Linux handles devices has changes quite
a bit over the past year. A daemon called udev now
dynamically controls devices in /dev and there's
this thing called hal that portray device information
to applications.... and there's dbus as a vehicle
for letting applications know about changes.

Saturday's presentation will take a deeper look into
dynamic device creation and how you can add your
own customizations. We'll also look at how the
pieces of udev, hal and dbus are used to facilitate
dynamic device changes.

Note: LIP team, I believe there will be some
people coming to the meeting with some hardware
for installation at 9am. Just fyi.

Make NTLUG part of your New Years resolution!
