I currently have 2 Linux machines and 1 Win9x on a intranet. I won't
have external access for another week or so. My primary concern is
internal so timed seemed the better choice (currently only) when I
looked at both ntpd and timed. And yes ntpd is included with 5.2.
Setting timed up was a snap but I didn't realize that adjtime wasn't on
the system. According to all the docs adjtime is what is used to do the
clock adjustments unless I'm reading things wrong. I have a "/etc/adjtime"
data file and I can find a adjtimex program file so I'm wondering if the
adjtimex is the same as adjtime?
Maybe the easiest choice is to live with the PIA until I get external
and go to ntpd? Does ntpd have any problems comming out from behind a
very restrictive firewall?
