noone has said this yet, so i'll do it.  i saw a a "Tweak of the Week" on
linux.com a couple months ago.  it's archive here:

in a nutshell, you use MD5 checksums to see if any of your binaries have
been altered.  it works great.  it also suggests using PGP to encrypt the
MD5 checksum you create.  anyway, go check out the page for more details.
just thought i'd pass this one since it seems very useful if you think you
may have been hacked.
