Hello all,
If you are wanting a place to show the wonders of Linux, how about some
of the bigger local flea markets. Traders Village is one that comes to mind, but
there are others. There are other big flea markets within an easy drive of DFW
for special events such as this. Canton, GunBarrell City, Grandbury, and many
other small towns host such flea markets. And they all have a few things
in common. LOTS of weekend traffic, a wide variety of people from our
community, and alot of people out just sight-seeing and exploring
There are already some computer dealers at Traders Village, in
permanant shops, so proximity to one of these might ensure getting "computer
minded" individuals walking by.
This idea may have already been kicked around and ruled out. Not sure
of the related cost but since we are incorporated as a "Not For Profit"
organization. we might even get a price break on a booth.
If anyone thinks this might be workable, I am willing to make some
calls to gather more specifics. If it has already been something thought of and
dismissed, then I will let it die.
