The 3c905C 'Tornado' cards need 1) setup to disable their funny network
prom, 2) the latest 3c59x.c driver (available from 3com, one of the
later kernels, or some place similar), 3) a kernel rebuild.  They work
very well but I recommend the 'B's over the 'C's 'cause they're usually
cheeper.
