There's not a drive limit as such, but /boot needs to be in the 
first 1024 cylinders.  I've installed on a couple of larger drives,
and just put a small (3-5meg) /boot partition on the drive first, 
then the rest of the stuff.  Disk Druid occasionally gives some
...unenlightening messages.  You might try another partition utility
to verify exactly what the problem is.
