[NTLUG:Discuss] OT: Apache: Front Page Extensions??

I seriously doubt FP is a tool by which they would try to defeat Linux, because FP
extensions get installed into Apache, which has little to nothing to do with Linux
(aside from the fact they are both O.S.). Apache can be compiled on Linux, AIX,
HPUX, Solaris, SunOS, and even NT (since 1.3, I believe). So, I would make a
counterpoint that O.S. projects are encroaching on the NT world since Apache can
run on NT now.
Also, FP extensions for Apache have existed since 1996, I believe - two years
before the Halloween documents. Yes, FP extensions were a way to try to encroach
into Apache - but I saw that as a ploy to sell more versions of the Frontpage
client. And, as Stephen Denny (I apologize if I misspelled your name) mentioned in
an earlier post, if users are clamoring for FP usability, I would just install an
NT box so I wouldn't have to worrry about all the crap that FP spews into my Apache
web server.
