[NTLUG:Discuss] DSL Recommendations/Experiences

Howdy Penguins!

I would like to request recommendations and experiences list members
have
had with various ISP/phone companies in setting up and using xDSL. I
have
a small LAN with low internet traffic in my house, but would like to
connect
it via a Linux gateway/firewall using IP routing/chaining to the
internet so that
all PCs could share the single, constant, high speed connection.

I currently have looked at Red Hat 6 as well as Mandrake 6 to use on the

gateway, but expect the IP routing/chaining would be essentially the
same
regardless of what distribution I use.

I would appreciate any info on good and bad experiences you may have
had trying to setup a similar connection. Eventually I would like to
setup
my own mail server, as well as Apache to run from this LAN as well.

If there are significant replies, and anyone is interested, I will be
glad to
post a summary of xDSL related recommendations/experiences.
