I have a RH system and am having some integration
issues with POP3 clients. A common occurrance is
when a user's spool file is sufficiently large
(>1MB), the client receives an error and no
mail is transferred. When I look at the process
space, there is a stray ipop3d process running
for the user that failed. It eventually times-out
and goes away.

Is there some config parameter for ipop3d that
is terminating the connection prematurely or
is the client side more of the problem? Any assistance
is appreciated.

Also, I randomly get the following message in my maillog
file (don't know if this is related to my issue or not):
... ipop3d[23384]: Broken pipe while reading line user=??? host=UNKNOWN
