[NTLUG:Discuss] Problem installing lunix

I am trying to install linux mandrake 6.1 into my computer.  It fails to 
detect my harddrive.  Here is my system specs.

PII 450 192MB RAM
MAXTOR UDMA66 10GB (with 5 partitions for different operating system)
NetGear 10/100 NIC
ATI EXPERTPLAY 98 8MB

The harddrive is using a built-in HighPoint UDMA66 controller.

The device detection says that I "have no mass storage devices".

I really need help because I am very interested in seting up and running a 
linux webserver.
