[NTLUG:Discuss] 64 bit IO on RH EE

I was cruising around RHs site and I noticed that one of the things they
mention about their new Enterprise Edition is:

64-bit file I/O allows access to files greater than 2GB
in                               size

Does anyone have any info on this?  Are they just using the long long
trick like Unixware?  Is this a feature being implemented by other
distros?  I personally think that LFS is a vital key for Linux to really
cement its position in the broad server market.

If anyone has any info on this topic, I'd appreciate it.  Thanx
