rec (or sox) is just reading the device file, /dev/dsp or /dev/audio. To find
out whether the driver is actually working, just "cat /dev/dsp" and talk into
the mike. If you don't see data events, the driver is not working. Start
looking for different drivers in OSS, then ALSA or 4-front drivers.

Kyle,

The volume on the mike is 100% on my mixer. "rec file.wav" give silence.
No his no nuthin'.
The sound card works for audio output and the mic works on another PC.
Any other ideas.

Thanks
Bobby
