Readup on rpm. The package manager contains all the information needed to make
a consistent installation. In particular, if you have a failing program, say
gnome-session, then find its package with rpm -qf `which gnome-session` and then
find what package requires with rpm -R gnome-core.

I'm at Redhat6.2 and I don't have a libpixbufloader.

Did you install libtool?

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] GNOME and GNUCash install difficulties

Hi all,

I spent the weekend downloading and installing GNOME, with a fair
amount of success, but not entirely. Some problems remain, probably
because of libraries not installed. Some programs don't have all of
their menu or toolbar icons showing. In that vein, maybe one of you
can tell me what I am missing as communicated by the following error
message:

** WARNING **: Unable to load module: libpixbufloader-png.so:
libpixbufloader-png.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

If I could identify the missing software, I could install it.

In a similar problem (possible missing libraries), I am having trouble
compiling GNUCash. ./configure works fine, but make produces this
error:

aclocal: configure.in: 33: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in
library

Many thanks in advance!

Dan
