running rh v6.2 with all necessary updates. i'm have the same issue with
not being able to ping out to the internet. ip_forward is turned on. if i
can solve that issue, it may resolve my other isues. reverse ip addressing
appears to being working correctly and has been setup with my isp, swbell.
i'm using all static ip addresses and not masquerading, although it is
compiled on in kernel with other known options compiled on for firewalling.
i'm using ipchains and squid. i can get out to the internet ok using the
browser, ftp, etc.... but can't ping out as others have reported.
for testing, i set all ipchains rules to accept, redirect port 80 to 3128.
"acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0" and "http_access allow src" is specified in
squid, along with the http_accel optons. nothing at time of testing is
blocked. i use a route statement in rc.local to send all incoming packets
for my host to my inside nic.
any info would be appreciated. for those that have the time and inclination
to attempt a connection to see what you can see, my web address is
blackswann.net. again any info would be appreciated. i've been working on
this for about two months and have tried everything my feeble mind can come
up with.
phone 214-421-2480, clyde swann
Peace!
