I am reprinting below part of the text of a post, to the SVLUG (Silicon
Valley) Discuss list, made by Rick Moen.  Most of you folks who are old
hands at Linux probably are familiar with the European Linux hike and
festival he describes.  To a newbie like me, it sounded cool.  I quickly
looked at the URL's he listed, although my browsing was without graphics/
photos.  All the webpages, and the hike and festival, looked like a lot
of fun.  I trust Rick won't object to my sharing it with you all.  (The
last 1/2 of his post, which I snipped, had to do with SVLUG's change of
venue for one of their local observances of a similar nature.)  Best to
