First off... dont close netscape when it pops up in your session or this
wont work. Go to your 'Gnome Control Center' under 'Startup Programs'...
there, you will find a button that says 'Browse Currently Running
Programs' Press it and select netscape in the list that appears. After
selecting, change the style to 'Trash'. This will not delete it from your
system.. only remove it from the startup next time. Make sure to save
session settings when logging out of your gnome session to ensure the
change will take place. for more info, there is a help button in that
dialog that explains the usage. When logging out, gnome will close
netscape for you and it shouldn't come back next time.

If you save your session settings in the future with netscape running, it
will come back again. The 'Trash' style only applies to the current
session.
