Don,

When I originally installed RH6.2 I had several problems running RH
specific programs such as control-panel from KDE as well.  What I
discovered after allot of frustration was that when I installed my
system I didn't install Gnome and that allot of the RH tools were Gnome
dependent.  Once I went back and added Gnome those problems went away. 
I don't mean just the Gnome libs either, the entire Gnome desktop
environment.  These programs run from KDE fine now and I don't use Gnome
so I guess I'll have to live with Gnome chewing up disk space.
