I can only speak w/respect to RH distros.  Take a look at
/etc/sysconfig/network.  There is a line in there for your gateway.  That
might change.  Also look at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.  That
file contains the config for eth0, ifcfg-eth1 would contain the ip address
info for eth1, etc.  You need to change the appropriate file there also.
