Kinda funny... I could never figure out to do M$ to Exceed, but the other
way around was simple. In fact I can't wait to get to work and try out your
little "HOW-TO" for pasting into my X-terms. It might also have to do with
which way I most often need data to flow. I'm forever manipulating data on
my Unix homeworld, then having to paste that output into excel for documents
destined for upper management, nearly never do I need to transfer any data
the other way. Anyway... to paste from an exceed xterm into an M$ app is
pretty much exactly the opposite of what was described previously:
Highlight the text to copy in the xterm window
Click the 'X' in the upper left-hand corner of the exceed window
Go down to Edit
Copy from X Selection
To Clipboard
Then use whatever editor command to paste it in your M$ app
(ctl-v/edit-paste)
Might be worth noting which version of Exceed, since I'm running 6.x on my
NT workstation and my X Windows logo is Red, not blue. ???
Of course the best alternative is to just install Linux. :-)
Anyways.... good luck.
Cya,
