look in the /etc dir for a symlink called localtime.

Make sure it points to the right place...
# ls -l /etc/localtime
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           30 Feb  3  2000 /etc/localtime -> 
/usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Central
