About 2 weeks ago I had problems the "phone technician" determined
was my cable modem.  So, the ***very next day*** a field tech came
knocking at my door, took away my old Motorola box and left on the
shelf an RCA cable modem, no model indication.

Not on Linux because of the spouse, but I was just responding to inform
of the type of cable modems being put in the neighborhoods.
