[NTLUG:Discuss] getting remote X servers?

hello,
I was able to get remote X session working by just using ssh (although Tom,
I'm sorry but ssh version 1.2.27 doesn't support the -X flag; -x disables X
forwarding. let me know what version you are using for -X flag)
The problem now, is that i want to be able to have multiple sessions of the
same program, such as netscape, for example. If I have netscape running
already on the server, and request to run netscape on the client while
logged in w/ssh, it closes the netscape session on the server and starts it
on the client.
I have a couple ideas of possibly bypassing this, but they're just crack-pot
thoughts, and I would appreciate some professional help that you guys could
offer.
ps. where is the DISPLAY variable usually set? (just for knowledge; i don't
need it for ssh X sessions)
thanks
-Micky
