Did they indicate that they would terminate your phone service if you
didn't pay the ISP charge? I don't think the PUC regs will allow them
to do this - could be wrong.
A "heads up" for the list. Anytime you feel that you have been
shafted by a telco, call the Public Utility Commission in Austin. My
contact with them has been most satisfying. The "phone lackys" at the
telco had played god by telling me precisely what the contract and the
law said. I called the PUC at 4:00pm one afternoon and the telco had
corrected the problem by 9:00am the next morning.
William, you might still call them if it hasn't been too long or you
are still paying. They just might order SWBell to refund some of your
money.
