[NTLUG:Discuss] Internet Explorer?

It may be a religious war when making purely emotional statements, but I am
interested in discussing factual information regarding the capabilities of
two competing (sort of) software applications. Maybe Shipman could persuade
me to start using Netscape by informing me of some feature/capability that I
am unaware of. Let's not turn this into 'playground fighting,' or a vehicle
for personal attacks. Let's keep it pro.

I feel like this relates somewhat to the discussion of Linux vs Windows (an
argument that has heated advocates on both sides). If your only argument is
'Linux is better because Windows sux' (or Netscape is better because IE sux)
you'll get nowhere in trying to proliferate the use of Linux. If you're not
open to hearing someone's point of view, how can you expect them to hear
your point of view?

Being passionate and showing emotion is good to a degree, but let's remember
that corporate America is (usually) persuaded by the bottom line (Linux is
cheaper, more stable, standards based, capable of integrating into
heterogeneous environments), rather than an emotional statement (Windows
sux!).

*stepping off soapbox*

Sorry if I've wasted list resources with this statement, but I want to see
Linux flourish. I believe the only way to do is by proving that Linux is
better not trashing Windows.

Thanks
Jackson

They both suck.

This is the same argument as Linux Vs BSD Vs Windows or emacs Vs vi or
Photoshop Vs Gimp or etc... It is a religious war and not worth wasting
bandwidth and time over. Each person is entitled to their own
opinions. If you wish to discuss this, please take it off list.
