Forget that! Flame ahead on! I love this drivel.

For one thing, I would like IE for Linux and SCO Unix. My
experiences have been more favorable with IE than NS. That may
be anecdotal, but it's my anecdote!

Second, this conversation reminds me of the 12 YOA computer
expert wannabees back in the BBS days of the 70s and 80s who
would place and opinion and then ask that people shut up. Back
then, the big quote was "Enuf Said" which was synonymouse with
"I have an opinion and your's sucks".

This flys in the face of those same wannabees. I am a Unix
guy, born and bred, but there are certain aspects to Windows
that make it an excellent platform for the "average" user.

Up front, for those of you who state that users are dumb or
have been dumbed down by MS, you need to grow up. This is a
real world with real needs. No one wants their accounting
clerk to clutter their mind with computer knowledge. They want
them to fill their minds with accouting knowledge.

Also, I have a simple test for any Linux Gottabee. I want my
Linux box to have dialup access to my earthlink account. On my
Windows box (pick one 95, 98, ME, NT, 2K), all I need is stick
a CD in the drive and the rest is virutally automatic. If you
have a similar CD that will work like that on Linux, send me a
copy and I will shut up about this matter. Setting up a simple
PPP to something like Earthlink or any normal ISP is a PITA for
Unix. If you don't understand what I am talking about, you
simply don't get it.

This has nothing to do with MS v Linux. It has to do with User
Friendly and User Surley. Non-techie users was user friendly
and they don't care about configurability. They just want to
do their accounting.

Aha! Sanity reigns. Fact based statements. Refreshing, but
few and far between.

You have wasted nothing. Your insight is a refreshing breeze
to an otherwise stale and myopic list. I get nauseated reading
anti-M$ crapola. I prefer facts from people who understand all
aspects of computing, not just the narrow frame of reference
from their narrow little minds.

Have a Nice day.
