Thanks for the info...

One way around this is to partition the laptop drive for dual booting
and install Windows 2000 into a real partition.  Then install Linux
into the other partitions and refer to the Windows 2000 partition
directly in your VMWare configuration instead of setting up a
virtual disk under VMWare.  I haven't tried this with Windows 2000,
I just know it has worked for me with Windows 98.
