[NTLUG:Discuss] Bind sucks (off topic)

Come on, guys--give credit where credit is due.
Were it not for bind, the Net would not be what it
is today. The bind suite is an incredibly complicated
and ever changing work of masters--I defy you or anyone
else to come up with something that works nearly as well
as nearly as much of the time.

As a matter of fact, one of my co-workers is trying to
write a 'new' bind in perl--but he's found out that things
really aren't as trivial as they seem--his code keeps growing
and growing--he's managed to corrupt a running kernel dictating
some rewriting. He's a good programmer, too. He's also only
one small genius-just consider the army of talent that has built
today's bind and continues to fix and enhance it.

Go read the code for bind; learn the RFC's. Then if you can
come up with something better, do it--and then I'll listen
to complaints that Bind Sucks.
