I thought that was only true in RH 7.0 - where it's a *very* nasty
issue BTW.

Just try building something like the nVidia OpenGL stuff on it
where some of the code runs in user-space (and hence uses
the evil version of gcc) and some as a kernel module (and hence
needs kgcc)...it was a nightmare.
