Time for my mid-year plea for presentions!
As you have probably seen, lately there's been a whole lot of
Chris and a whole lot of commercial entities filling up the
calendar at NTLUG. (granted, the folks that cancelled
had good reason to cancel their presentations...I'm not
blaming them...)
What we need is more member presentations!!
Remember, presentations can be targeted at the beginner,
the intermediate or the advanced user. It could be about
an application, a distribution, a configuration,
technology (with some kind of impact to Linux).... just
about anything that is related to Linux in some way.
NTLUG is a volunteer organization. Things work best
when members contribute directly. Without making
this into some kind of "guilt trip"... let me say that
doing presentations is an excellent way to improve
your public speaking skills. And that alone means
something to most employers. Also, doing presentations
can help get to know other members better.
If you have a presentation idea... send me an email:
mailto:cjcox at acm.org
Thanks,
Chris
