I changed the /etc/inittab file to default to textbased login and now I
get a linux prompt. (Thanks Frank!) When I 'startx' at the prompt I
still get the black screen. I'll start playing with the settings and
see if I can get the Gnome gui working.
Any ideas on the best settings to try first?
