[NTLUG:Discuss] PPTP / VPN solution.. SO CLOSE!

Well technically I got PPTP up and working between a Linux server running
pptpd and a windows client connecting via a dial up networking connection
using the MS VPN adapter.

The wingnuts computer attaches and gets an IP address (10.2.247.60/8). I can
ping resources on the private net..and can even see and use other shares. I
think however that proxyarp is getting in the way. Broadcast don't quite
route(bridge) properly.

So....this is a two part question.

1) Is there any other open source VPN solution that allows an MS Win32
workstation to connect to a Linux VPN server?

2) Is there a different approach to PPTP I should be taking?
If I could get the PPTP daemon ( http://poptop.lineo.com ) to hand out a
subnet, I could route between segments...BUT how then do I tell the Winblows
OS to add a route to the private subnets.

I have more questions, but it's late and my brain just shut down.

Thanks group!
