Good on ya.  I submitted that link to Linux Today last week, and they
didn't publish it.  I meant to post it to this list, and I just forgot.  

I am uncomfortable recommending *any* MS OS to anyone, but if I did,
Win2K would perhaps be somewhat more likely, and XP not at all, for the
reasons Livingston cited, and others --  the compulsory registration (and
whatever snooping MS does on people when that's done, although they deny
it); the forced use of Passport and the ensuing revelation of financial,
shopping and other private, personal data to a MS-related server off
somewhere; and so on.

Someone else who is more knowledgeable than I will have to respond to
that one;  Dunno.  I would think it would open up a lot more
compatibility.
