Because of the initial backlash, Microsoft officials say Microsoft will be 
pretty open which means they'll let you do all sorts of stuff with XP with a 
wink and a nudge when you register your OS. However, like McNealy has said, with 
Microsoft, the first hit is always free. You have to wait for the guy to stick 
his neck in the noose before you can start tightening.
