Permit me to suggest djbdns.  (http://cr.yp.to).  From the same egotistical guy who
brought you qmail.  It's quality software, and separates DNS *caching* from DNS
*nameserving*, the way it should be done.

It's more robust than BIND, easier to configure, and more secure.
