Try rpm -U <package name>. -U is the option for a
package upgrade, as opposed to erasing (-e) and
installing (-i) the new rpms, which shouldn't complain
unless your new mysql packages require a newer version
of some other packege, in which case you'll need to
rpm -U those as well.
