[NTLUG:Discuss] Using the entire monitor screen

I've heard that some monitors can be damaged by out-of-bounds input
frequencies, but in RedHat there is a utility /usr/bin/X11/Xconfigurator
that will walk you through defining your adaptor and monitor.

Perhaps that would help?
